Being old does not in any way prove anything except that Chinese medicine has been wrong for a long time.

Just because there are flawed studies, it doesn't follow that all of them are. She, by her own admission, is ignorant of science and so what chutzpah to then proceed to criticize scientific research.

The placebo effect is due to the psychological effects of suggestion, it is a known and quantifiable effect.

I wonder how Rabbi Rapport would respond to this: If my car broke down or my sink sprung a leak, should we ask our Rav for help fixing it, would our Rav consult the writings of the chachamim to find an answer? If not, then why would we expect to get good health advice from them?

It is quite clear and obvious that Rabbi Rapport doesn't know the difference between logic and knowledge. 1000 years ago, magnetism was a mystery but now we very well know where it comes from, what causes it. Until we understood what an atom is and what a dipole is, you can't understand magnets and magnetism. It has been many times quoted, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
